by Christian Scully With this beautiful Spring weather [finally] arriving and bringing those bright sunshiny days, I would be lying if I said I didn't want to be outside. I love interior photography, but Father Winter surely overstayed his welcome and hung around for nearly half a year!! So if photography keeps me indoors these days, it might as well be for a great reason. Doug Masters, of Masters Touch Design Build, provided such a reason. Nestled in shade of forest in Norfolk, MA, this lovely space really caught my eye and held my attention. Sturdy wooden beams, a warm wooden living room, bright pops of color in the sitting room, wonderfully simple cabinetry and ample counter space in the kitchen and then a naturally lit spa room with a built in jacuzzi on the back of the house? There are so many different aspects to the design I don't know how they all work together, but when homeowners have such a fun vision and Masters Touch has 18 years of experience and the people to make it happen, the result is certainly photo worthy. I sat down to chat with Doug after the shoot to learn more about his company. Check out this short video and view some of our favorite still images below. Then go outside and enjoy the weather!! But come back soon :) Keywords: boston architectural photographer, design imaging studios, masters touch design build, holliston ma, interior photographer in boston, professional interior photographer, professional architectural photography, christian scully, marketing interior design, advertising for interior designers, marketing for builders, norfolk ma, new england interior photographer, doug masters

by Christian Scully This week Design Imaging Studios proudly presents the work and words of the lovely Leona Piro, of Act Two Home Staging and Leona Piro Interiors, located in Mendon, New York. We've photographed half a dozen of her homes over the past year and are fortunate to have several more shoots coming up in 2014. In this video, Leona explains the importance of staging when it comes to selling a space, and what exactly that entails. Likewise, Leona understands the importance of quality photography when it comes to selling her own services. With most businesses in today's market, whether it's selling a house, or selling design services, image is everything. It's very easy to simply click on the next Google link to view a company with higher quality photos. View our portfolio to see what other kinds of spaces we've spent time capturing, and contact us to chat about how we can help give your own portfolio a boost. Enjoy! Capturing Spaces in Cape Cod: Design Imaging Studios Visits the Historic Captain David Kelley House4/10/2014 by Christian Scully Welcoming, cheerful, gracious and comedic: wonderful traits that immediately shine when you meet the owners of the Captain David Kelley House. Tom Nortz and Rick Garceau are the proud caretakers of their "grand old lady", a historic home nestled in the small village of Centerville, in the town of Barnstable, Massachusetts. Tom and Rick purchased the home in 2008 and have dedicated their time to restoring the structure and providing a charming escape for Cape Cod vacationers. Rick, having a background as a graphic designer, put together the B&B's website and maintains it by keeping information up to date, and continuously working on search engine optimization. As they have put so much effort into restoring the home over the years, they felt it was the right time to invest in professional interior photography, and allow potential guests to properly view what they can enjoy. So, on this crisp, bright blue day at the start of Spring, I had the opportunity to capture the home, focusing on the interiors, and we capped it off by sitting down for a lovely conversation about the home, their work and what they do to make guests' stays one-of-a-kind. Fortunately for me, I will be returning in the Summer to capture their dining porch, exteriors and breakfast creations... because they both make famously delicious scones! Design Imaging Studios creates naturally beautiful photographs of interiors and architecture, a great investment for a bed and breakfast, inn, or hotel looking to give their website a boost and attract more guests. Unfortunately, so many B&Bs, inns, and hotels feel they can't afford photography, the up-front cost is too high, or they can't see the long term value in it. We work with individuals and businesses in many different situations, and strive to do everything we can to put quality photography in your hands and on your website. Give us a call today, we'd be happy to talk about your photography needs, and different ways we can help. by Christian Scully We recently had the pleasure of spending a day inside a wonderful and modern South Boston condo with interior designer, Casey Timm, of Studio C Interiors. In addition to producing still photographs of the modern city living spaces, we captured some motion and sat down to talk to Casey about her process and what this project involved. The photos, video and audio were then crafted together to form this multimedia piece. Why not just shoot still photos? While still images remain very much the focus of our work and should be the foundation of a design portfolio for both practical and marketing purposes, these multimedia pieces can be a more interactive addition to a complete marketing mix. Multimedia is a great way to add depth to your website, blog or social media, allowing you to further communicate your message while keeping the focus on the design itself. By incorporating still photos with a touch of simple motion, we are able to retain the quality of the images we regularly produce, while creating a more dimensional sense of space. The audio rounds off the piece nicely, providing an opportunity for the designer to speak to every viewer. We have several other multimedia pieces in the works over the next month, so stay tuned to this blog to view more examples. We'd love for you to join us on Facebook, or subscribe to our newsletter on the right!
